EXIT MATTERS: Facing the End with Humor and Heart

8/27/2025

Monthly Zoom Discussions and Events

Whether we like to think about it or not, life has a final chapter. At Patient Choices Vermont (PCV), we know that how that chapter unfolds depends upon the people, support, and choices that surround us. That’s why we are launching Exit Matters, a new on-line series:

PCV now hosts free monthly online sessions on topics related to end-of-life issues. Each month, we provide an overview of Act 39 and medical aid in dying in Vermont, followed by a presentation from guest speakers on a variety of related topics, along with time for discussion and clarification. These sessions are an opportunity to discover how we can cultivate the kind of support that will bring community and wholeness to our final chapter.

Each Exit Matters session will include an overview of Act 39 and MAiD in Vermont, with the opportunity to ask questions and learn about additional resources, followed by speakers on a related topic.

What is a Death Doula?
Hosted by Kasey March, head doula of Doula Care for Dying, and Lindsey Warren, doula, sound healer, and Reiki healing arts level 2 practitioner of Journey with Compassion.

Join Kasey and Lindsey for an informative and heartfelt conversation exploring the role of a death doula, also known as an end of life doula. Kasey and Lindsey will share how death doulas provide emotional, spiritual, and practical support to individuals and families facing the end of life. This program will help demystify what a death doula does, why this work is becoming more widely recognized, and how compassionate, non-medical support can bring comfort, dignity, and peace during one of life’s most profound transitions.
