Today, we mark the 11th anniversary of Vermont’s Act 39

5/20/2024

“My family is grateful every day that Maggie’s death was like her life,
one of powerful personal choice.”
 ~ Katy Lesser

This video of the Act 39 signing ceremony on May 20, 2013 captured the vital energy of the many people who had campaigned for more than a decade to enact this fundamental civil right into law.
Do you recognize any of the people in the film?
Many of them are still quite dedicated to implementing the Patient Choices Vermont (PCV) vision. You can find several of them listed as members of our Board of Directors or our Advisory Board.
Let’s honor all of them with a donation in support of PCV’s work.
Please consider a donation of $60 or, if you are able, $200, $500, or $1,000.
(PCV is a 501(c)(3) non-profit. Your contributions are tax-deductible)

Even after 11 years, sadly, many people have trouble accessing medical aid in dying. Many more people are making decisions about their end-of-life care without even knowing that there is an alternative to pain and suffering with a terminal illness.

PCV’s mission is about autonomy, dignity, equal access, and individual values. We work to ensure that all relevant information is available and care is accessible to anyone desiring a choice at the end-of-life care that matches their values and priorities.

Your donation helps bring powerful personal choice to people who are dying, also touching their children, parents and friends. Your support will have a ripple effect across our entire community.

Thank you so much,
Betsy J. Walkerman, Esq., President
